TWO ASER VENTURES PORTFOLIO COMPANIES SHORTLISTED FOR 2023 SPORTS TECHNOLOGY AWARDS
Two Aser Ventures portfolio companies have received industry recognition for their ground-breaking technologies, landing three nominations for The STA Group's 2023 edition of the Sports Technology Awards, which are in association with NBC Sports Next.
Sports Data Labs Inc., which was the recipient of a strategic investment by Aser in 2019, and is a leader in the collection, analysis, and distribution of Human Data from on-body sensors and sensing systems, received two nominations. In 2022 Aser acquired a strategic stake in the Doha-based nominee Sponix Tech, which develops pioneering software to drive fan engagement and monetisation opportunities fo rsports rights owners, broadcasters, and brands.
Sports Data Labs has been shortlisted in two categories, garnering nominations both for "Startup of the Year" and "Best Sports Betting Technology", a superb achievement in its own right. The first time Sports Data Labs has received multiple category nominations in a single year, it follows previously being featured in the "Best Elite Performance Technology" (2021) and "Innovation of the Year" (2022) categories.
The shortlisting in the "Innovation of the Year" category recognises the unique, purely software-based SPboard virtual advertising technology created by Sponix Tech. Together with their immersive replay technology SPov, it demonstrates the value Sponix Tech offers to broadcasters, advertisers, and fans.
