Global sports provider ELEVEN SPORTS has secured LIVE and EXCLUSIVE Portuguese rights to Ligue 1 Conforama, the top domestic football league in France.
Today’s agreement bolsters ELEVEN’s rights portfolio in Portugal following the platform’s entry into the market in May with the acquisition of rights to the UEFA Champions League and LaLiga.
The three-year partnership includes rights to Coupe de la Ligue (the French League Cup) and Trophee des Champions (the annual match between the champions of Ligue 1 and the winners of the Coupe de France).
It also enables Portuguese football fans to follow Ligue 1 Conforama stars João Moutinho (AS Monaco) and Anthony Lopes (Olympique Lyonnais) on ELEVEN SPORTS, both of whom are part of Portugal’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad. This is in addition to the world’s best players who will feature in the UEFA Champions League and LaLiga on ELEVEN SPORTS including Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Mo Salah, Antoine Griezmann, and every Real Madrid game featuring five-time UEFA Champions League winner, Portugal captain and local hero, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Everything we do is to create maximum value for the fans. We are fully committed to bring Portuguese football fans the best product in the market, including the best players, clubs and leagues.” said Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS. “Adding Ligue 1 on top of UEFA Champions League and LaLiga means that ELEVEN SPORTS is rapidly establishing itself as the leading player in the sports media market in Portugal. We look forward to continue building our fan centric proposition and will announce further premium rights soon.”
ELEVEN also recently agreed a carriage deal with Portuguese telecommunications operator NOWO. The carriage agreement means that NOWO will distribute ELEVEN SPORTS’ channels in Portugal, guaranteeing access for fans to the premium action on ELEVEN SPORTS.
